Vinum Nobis DOC Barbera Piemonte

The wine

The Vinum Nobis DOC Barbera Piedmont is a delicious red wine with a lot of character and an intense ruby red color with a purple edge. The Vinum Nobis Barbera has a pleasant exuberant smell with a bouquet of dark fruit and floral notes. The wine is full and powerful with a taste of red berries and refined tannins which are soft and complex due to the wood bearing. A nice balance between acidity and noble tannins make this wine a pleasant and easy drinking meal accompanist. The wine has a long spicy aftertaste and can be drunk for up to five years after the harvest. This aromatic powerhouse fits a wide range of dishes such as red meat, game, pastas and white cheeses. Serve between 16-18˚C.

The grapes

In San Luigi, around Dogliani is the Vinum Nobis vineyard where the barbera grape grows. The soil on which the barber grapes grow is a calcareous, clay-like soil. The Barber grape belongs to one of the noblest grape varieties of Italy. The grapes are fast growers with a beautiful intense color and give the Vinum Nobis DOC Barbera its great character. By reducing production, by cutting back, this grape rewards us with high quality. If the grape is just not ripe, it is picked by hand. This also ensures that the Vinum Nobis Barbera is a wine with a perfect balance between fresh acid and a combination of red fruit.

Production

Luigi Einaudi bought in 1897 from the proceeds of his first book a farm in the “Langhe”. He eventually brought it to Italy’s president. No less than 7 farms with vineyards were named after his death in 1961. Luigi was a very talented man with a strong passion for wine, which can be found in the following generations. We see it as a privilege that the Vinum Nobis vineyard is one of the vineyards of this familly. This wine company works from pure love for the country and its products. The barbera bunches of grapes from Vinum Nobis have been entrusted to this familly company with full conviction. Their experience, passion and attention flow together in the barbera of Vinum Nobis. The barber grapes from Vinum Nobis are fermented in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28-30 ° C. After 6-8 days, after malting of the wine, malolactic fermentation is started, again in steel. The wine then ripens for ten to twelve months in wooden barrels made of French oak. Before delivery to the Vinum Nobis members the wine matures for several months after being bottled in the cellars of Luigi Einaudi, completing the refinement. The Barbera made by the Einaudi family is a wine with its own character, a real Vinum Nobis wine!
