Vinum Nobis DOCG Roero Arneis Trinità

The wine

The special white wine from Vinum Nobis is the DOCG Roero Arneis Trinità. This Vinum Nobis wine has a medium body with a clear minerality and a nice freshness with notes of peach, lemon and pineapple. The color of this refined and elegant wine is brilliant straw yellow. The Roero Arneis from Vinum Nobis is an all round wine: fresh enough as an aperitif, enough strength and complexity to drink with a wide range of dishes such as: starters, soups, fish, poultry, pastas and fresh cheeses. The wine is immediately ready to drink but can become softer after two cellar years with a nutty aroma. The alcohol percentage is 13.0% and serve between 12-14 ˚C.

The grapes

The Arneis grape is not an easy to grow grape and literally means ‘small difficult’ in dialect, perhaps even ‘stubborn’. It is one of the most important white grape varieties of (northern) Italy. The Roero region is home to the Vinum Nobis Trinità vineyard where the Arneis thrives. The lime, sand and clay rich vineyard is rich in fossils and minerals, a remnant from the time the region was covered by the sea. The Arneis, also known as the ‘white Nebbiolo’, is a typical Piedmontese grape that is only grown in the Piedmont.Growing the Arneis grape requires a lot of attention and care but is praised for its good taste characteristics. The clusters of the old Arneis sticks are cut to a minimum by hand with a low yield as a result. Depending on the weather conditions of that year, manual grape harvesting takes place at the end of September.

Production

The white wine of Vinum Nobis is made by the renowned winery Malvira ‘who has managed to save the white and stubborn Arneis grape from destruction. The wines made by Malvira ‘are considered one of the purest Arneis of the Piedmont. The Vinum Nobis DOCG Roero Arneis Trinità is partly on stainless steel (inox) and partly on wood. Vinum Nobis chooses to give 10% of its Arneis grapes a short term aging of six months. The remaining 90% of the grapes are matured in stainless steel tanks for ten months. After maturing, the two barrels are combined, resulting in a special white Vinum Nobis wine, dry with a mineral aftertaste, simply a delicious wine.
